The Board met on Wednesday September 29 at the Metropolitan Racquet Club.  The annual meeting/Christmas party will be held at Susan Burns home in or near Tomball.  Directions on how to get there will be provided later.  The date will be early December, probably the 4th or 11th.  Stay tuned.

The 2005 Certification School will be held January 28, 29 and 30 at the Hilton Sourhwest, 6780 Southwest Freeway, Houston 77074, (713) 977-7911.  This is near the Hillcroft exit.  Mark these dates. Only the brand new people need to attend Friday night.

A Nominating Committee is being formed to nominate candidates for election to the Board for 2005.  Volunteers for Chair or members are being sought.  If you would like to participate, contact Ginny James.

The Houston Tennis Umpires Association has about 80 members on its roster. However, we are constantly in need of new members. A steady flow of new members is necessary to sustain this organization. If you love the game of tennis and wish to help in assuring that the game is played fairly, then you are a good candidate for HTUA membership. Not only do our members officiate at local tournaments, they also travel to tournaments out of this area including Grand Slam Events
